Residential Garbage & Recycling
The Village of Grantsburg contracts with Waste Management of Cambridge, MN for residential garbage and recycling pickup for Village of Grantsburg residents only. This is a mandatory service in the Village. Garbage is picked up every Wednesday. Recycling is picked up every other Wednesday, please see the calendar above for specific dates. Please make sure your garbage and recycling containers are placed at the curb before 6:00 a.m.
Waste Management recognizes the following holidays: Independence Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. If the holiday falls on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday the garbage pickup for that week will fall one day later. Thanksgiving Day will not affect our residential customers.
The following garbage container sizes are available for all residential units (under 10 units). Rates shown are effective as of October 1st, 2025. Recycling containers are only available in 64 gallon and 96 gallon sizes.

Village residents may stop at the Village Office to schedule and pay for pickup of larger items placed at the curb. Click here for a list of items with the cost for each item(s).
